a little bio about me...

marvin embree

Before finding his calling as an artist almost 40 years ago Marvin Embree had been a college athlete, a machinist, a market researcher and a US Marine. A native of Ryan, Oklahoma, Embree first established himself in the Oklahoma City art scene of the early 1970s as part of UCOs Formidable Five. While holding the position of head art teacher at the Heritage Hall School for 31 years Mr. E continued to create, to grow, and to exhibit in the Paseo and throughout the state. This fall Embree will be returning to the Paseo with a gallery displaying his work as well as his private collection and collections of his many friends. Though a man of few words, if pushed for a philosophy on art or life he will tell you that “there’s room for everybody.”
